The Lake Living Forum
This week, a Twin Cities lake association is installing a whole-lake "Laminar Inversion Aeration System" that is expected to have a dramatic and positive impact on the long term health of it’s lake by reducing aquatic weeds, decreasing bottom muck, and eliminating the need for much of the potentially harmful chemicals that have been used in the past while reducing the operating and management expenses typically associated with maintaining the lake.
Sound too good to be true?
We thought so too - until we did the research.
Third party studies documented muck reductions in excess of 12”, milfoil was controlled and blue green algae reduced by 35% - all in the first year.
If you would like to know more about this method, I'd like to invite you to this months Lake Living Forum that will explain exactly what the project on Schmidt Lake in Plymouth entails. You will learn why this lake restoration and improvement strategy has the potential to make such a huge impact on many of our troubled lakes.
The presentation will be made at the April Lake Living Forum meeting by John Tucci of Lake Savers Inc, a Kalamazoo Michigan company. John will also be overseeing the installation of the system this week on Schmidt Lake and will discuss the science behind the process as well as the expected benefits.
There will be plenty of time for questions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the project at the on the lake at a future date.
The seminar will be held April 19th, at 6:30pm in Plymouth Minnesota.
What this meeting is NOT: This is not a selling event and you will not hear a sales pitch. However, it is a chance to see discuss the benefits of a new solution that may be a benefit to your lake too.

The Lake Living Forum is a monthly gathering sponsored by The Weeders Digest, a “Lake and Pond Help Desk” located in the Twin Cities. Over the past several years, the gatherings have become somewhat of a "support group" for lake associations.

Working with the DNR and other organizations.
Writing grant proposals to fund your projects.
New technologies for water quality improvement.
Identifying herbicide applicators that seem to be the most effective.
Making various resources available for lake management.
And, most importantly, what is and what is not working for you.
